I'm in the midst of my re-read of "Vulcan's Glory" right now, and this is so eminently satisfying. Well done.

omg it is SO MY FAVE. I've read all the other Pike novels now, and this is the only one where it really feels like the crew from "The Cage". And I love Number One and Cait Barry's friendship. I wish there was mroe Cait in the novels, for a female Chief Engineer is nifty (can you tell I as a B'Elanna Torres fan?) and there are so very few strong female friendships in the Trek verse outside of DS9 (which is far and away the best for me when it comes to relationships and using the large ensemble cast to its very best advantage).

Thanks! The second I stepped out of the theatre, I knew I wanted to write this story.

I may have already flailed wildly all over this on your website, but I'm reading through pike_2009 from the beginning, and well. EEEEEE, THIS.

I'll admit I'd never heard of Number One before looking for reboot!Pike fic a few weeks ago, but I am very sold on them as OTP, and it's mosty your fault. *flail!*

*blush* Thank you so much! I'd recommend watching "The Cage" sometime, for Number One IS made of awesome. I have at this point such a clear mental image of Number One in the Star Trek (2009) continuity, but "The Cage" and Dorothy Fontana's Vulcan's Glory still inform my AOS Number One at almost every turn.
