Absolutely the most well-written piece of fan fiction I've read in a good long while. You set the bar very high for the rest of us paltry scribblers. Please, do write more.

I'm not very prolific (well, anymore) but I haven't had a burst like this in a long time. I'm clinging to it and hanging on for dear life.

I've never written TOS, and I'm nearly a decade out of practice with Trek at all, so I was HELLA NERVOUS when I started. but I'm really enjoying exploring the film universe like a crazy person.

It is truly remarkable how you managed to show the limitation the vulcan society set for itself by opposing the lack of oral expression with physical action and its meaning for her. And I could imagine how sad Nyota feels on his behalf that she cannot name what he means to her in his own language.
Even if action often says more than thousand words, the power of words should never be underestimated.

This ship produced a lot of great an gorgeous fiction, but this one is my favourite of now. And as I am lost for further words, I'll give you ♥ ♥ ♥

This whole thing started because I picked up the TMP novelisation two weeks ago and read The Famous Footnote for the first time, and I got kinda obsessed with the idea that there isn't a word in Vulcan that truly corresponds to Standard because it just isn't a part of the culture. And I couldn't resist playing with that, with Spock and Nyota.

Beautiful, beautiful prose. And so them. It's so appropriate that it's the language that captures Uhura's thoughts.

That was incredible! You're obviously really talented. The amount of research you did shows, it gives the story some of its strength.

I'm bookmarking your research links to use in the future. Hope you don't mind. :)

I'm a total JUNKIE for research. I figure, I can't know how or when to break the rules, unless I know all the rules, first. And I never want anyone to be thrown out of the narrative by a factual error if at all possible. So bookmark away!

This is amazing.

...Usually I'm more effusive, but now English doesn't have right words either! The awesomesauciness of this has rendered me speechless.
