Thank you so much. It was a bit of an experiment, and I was nervous before I posted. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

ljc: omg kittytaraljc on 31st May 2009 02:20 (UTC)
thanks! I've got some stuff on the horizon that's more gen-oriented, and erm... some Pike/Number One-ish, because I'm weird like that. but I'm loving Spock/Uhura SO HARD OMG.

Absolutely beautiful - the words drew me in so deeply that I could practically feel the emotions first-hand.

She writes sonnets on his bare back with her short blunt nails

Be still my heart.
ljc: star trek (snog)taraljc on 31st May 2009 02:22 (UTC)
I kinda love so much that she has short nails. I mean, Uhura Prime had these gorgeous manicured long nails, but I always keep my nails trimmed short because it messes with my keyboard too much. And I was thinking about how sexy short nails with dark polish looked on Uhura, and erm... the image presented itself.

Oh my good lord that is gorgeous. This, this, a thousand times this. From the very beginning with debunking that ridiculous language myth to the end with poetry and kisses and argh I just—

Flailing motions and squeeing. I think that about sums it up. I love it.

this is amazing. what a beautiful way to show how actions speak louder than words,or i suppose more appropriately, how actions speak when there are no words.

thank you for sharing and i hope you don't mind my commenting!

How could I mind? Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. It means a lot.
A work in progress: Trek Uhura Promoancarett on 27th May 2009 03:18 (UTC)
Great start with the myth and from there to the moment. I wondered how Uhura would deal with the linguistic limitations of such a ruthlessly logical society!

You really nailed this piece right here -- So she tries to tell him, with the language of her body.
ljc: star trek (spock/nyota otp)taraljc on 31st May 2009 02:29 (UTC)
I wasn't sure where I was going, until I got to there, and then it just clicked inside my head. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

So, so gorgeous.
I love that there is so much tenderness along with the passion between them.
ljc: hug spock now!taraljc on 31st May 2009 02:31 (UTC)
The 'lift scene to me is all about tenderness, and I wanted to bring that into this as much as I could.

This was great! And props for doing research. hehe
ljc: star trek (awesome uhura)taraljc on 31st May 2009 02:32 (UTC)
I'm addicted to research. I want people to not get thrown out of my stories by inaccurated details if they can be at all avoided, plus I love learning new things.

She wants to find a word to express her love and their relationship! Ahhhhhhh!

This pairing, when done right, reduces me to incoherence.

I AM SO ADDICTED TO THIS PAIRING. SRSLY.

Lovely use of figurative language in this. Very poetic and kind of floaty. Sexy, too.
ljc: star trek (foreplay)taraljc on 31st May 2009 02:33 (UTC)
Thanks so much! It was a bit experimental, so I was nervous. But I'm so glad it worked for you.
