and lo, there was geekage.

The last time I re-read Emma Bull's War for the Oaks, I had fun mentally "casting" a live-action film version. So clearly, Allison Mack would play Eddi, Jason Mamoa the Puca, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers Willy Silver, if fandom were in charge of the universe. I started playing with this wallpaper almost a year ago, and to blow off steam, finished it up tonight.

If you've never read it, I highly recommend checking it out. Along with Terri Windling's Bordertown series, and Charles de Lint's Newford series, it's one of the Grandmothers of the whole urban fantasy genre.

Oh. Dude. Awesome. War for the Oaks is one of my go-to favorite books, and I love the bordertown series. I always pictured the Phouka more like Sendhil Ramammurthy, though.

For most of the 1990s, he was played by Harold Perrineau inside my head.

Hey, "Willy" is a really nice guy. I used to go hear bedlam play every time I was up at RenFest. In fact, I know a lot of folks who were in that trailer *lolz*.
