Since the authors have now gone live, I feel it's safe to announce that, to the surprise of I am guessing absolutely no-one, I remixed [info]ellielabelle's "Dare" for Remix Redux IV.

Just an FYI: I've updated better with two so that you can now email your fan fiction, fan art, and essay submissions as attachments when you fill in the submission form. The form is necessary to ensure that I have all the information I need to update the site, as well as the info being formatted correctly.

Please be aware that the only way for your work to be archived on the site is if you submit it via the submission form. No fiction, artwork, or essays will be automatically archived. Authors may only submit their own work. No work will be archived without the author's consent.

Also, submissions WILL NOT BE COPY EDITED. While in the past I've tried to correct glaring copy and content errors, I no longer have time, and am asking that authors please edit their work before submitting it to the archive. This includes spell-checking (which should be a given, but you'd be surprised), correcting grammar, punctuation, and paragraphing, and properly formatting for work for the archive.

question for Whofic folks
I'm hopefully tomorrow night posting a new batch of Whovian recs from September & October both here here and to [info]dw_recs, and it occured to me that I've been seeing a lot of multi-part stories posted to comms lately, but I can't find where the completed WIPs are being archived.

Like a lot of folks, I rarely read WIPs as I prefer to not get involved in a story which is then abandonned by the author, as unfortunately happens very often with WIPs, waiting instead to read the completed story once it's finished and has been edited. And lately, I've had a hard time finding the completed stories, because I've fallen behind in my reading and haven't been able to find where folks are actually archiving their work.

If you write new Doctor Who fic, can you drop me a comment and let me know if you are archiving your finished work to:

A Teaspoon and an Open Mind
Better With Two
Flexible
Fanfiction.net

or if you are simply archive finished work at your personal website, or only in your LJ? And if to your LJ, what tags are you using, so someone could actually find the completed stories?

(Also, just a reminder that Better With Two is always open for submissions of completed fic. Just fill in the form and email me the story in MS Word, .txt, or HTML format [or a link, if the complete file is already up all in one place] to submit.)

Author's Note: Written as part of the Parting of the Ways Ficathon for [info]kharma2815, who wanted the line "It may only be small, but it's what you do with it that matters", Jack trying to flirt with Mickey, and a happy ending. Hope a hopeful ending will suffice. Huge thanks to my betas, particularly [info]natmerc. Contains very mild spoilers for "The Christmas Invasion."

I think there's some wide-spread confusion about things like how to punctuate dialogue, and what ellipsis are for, and how to format fiction for reading on-line. So I decided to come up with a quick-and-dirty guide. There are I'm sure a hundred of these--both fannish and just Chicago Style Guide clones floating about, but I wanted something (I could easily locate) to point people to when the occasion arose...

Not a Busman's Holiday
Written for [info]snowballjane for the Ninth Doctor Ficathon. I apologise in advance for the period and setting—I cheated horribly, and I know it. But I hope you enjoy it anyway. And I'll try and do better next time. Beta'd by [info]queenofalostart, [info]doyle_sb4, and [info]giglet each of whom did her very best to make it not suck, for which I am grateful.

This is set after "World War III" however, no real series spoilers.

Odd Man Out
Okay, this is for [info]doylefan22--a belated birthday present. She wanted voyeur!Jack spying on the Doctor and Rose, and erm... that's what she gets. Cos everybody ought to get what they want at least once, for their birthday. And I got to write something I prolly never would have written otherwise, which was fun as well (but don't tell anyone, or I will never ever live it down.)

This is pretty much NC-17, and has slight spoilers for The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances. It would suck beyond the telling of it without my betas. *snuggles her comrades in arms and hands out mimosas*. Extra special hugs to [info]nostalgia_lj for hand-holding.

fic for nos.
I did not write this for £5.

I loves [info]nostalgia_lj in a totally platonic Nine & Rose type way.

*clingz*

nos' list:

1. underwire brassiere (in honour of Six and Peri)
2. "Ace"
3. OMG used as an actual word. ish.
4. Totally random "Big Bad Wolf" ref
5. ALIEN BABIZ!
