Am alives. I swear! Still not yet recovered from the con (due in no small part to having stayed up past 2 every night, and then getting up at 7 Friday/Saturday/Sunday). But had a FANTASTIC time. Got hugs from
amilyn's Elf in her Reinette dress, ooooooh'd and aaaaaah'd over
wiliqueen's clockwork droid costume, did 4 actually quite excellent panels, despite the presence of one lady in the audience who couldn't quite manage being either consise OR on-topic in her comments and trying to dominate the convo, had a massive amount of sushi Friday night at the 2nd annual TARDIS sushi club, turned 6 thousand shades of red during closing ceremonies when Sophie Aldred thanked me publically for the stocking the Green Room with healthy food.
Sophie blew me away with just how lovely she was, as did Maureen O'Brien, and Claire from Big Finish. Had a stupidly good time with Nigel Fairs and Steve Johnson (I am now his official North American Hag, and we discussed the viability of "Rent-a-Hag" as a business) and did a sequel to our Squee Girls panel with the always lovely Christa Dickson, who remains one of my fave people on the planet. And Jason from Big Finish was also just a sweetie, and I will remember to always stock gluten-free biscuits for him in the future, as those went over huge.
The hotel was trying to kill us, and in several cases almost suceeded. But we were triumphant in the end, as we are leaving them for greener pastures next year.
I am already planning for the Green Room next year, taking note of what worked (Amy's organic lentil soup = WIN, and there is no such thing as TOO MUCH hommous) and what didn't (mini-fridges from HELL combined with hotel heating which turned the rom into an oven cost me far more food which was frozen solid and then destroyed when it practically cooked while on the table) and I am going to draft a minion with a vehicle next year so the head of programming isn't having to ferry my sad pedestrian ass around. Karen Baldwin also was a fantastic help as with her and two volunteers help, teardown of teh green room was a snap and took all of 45 minutes start-to-finish.
I love Shaun Lyon like pie. And not only are Lars, Arnold and I doing a repeat performance of our Piracy! panel at Gally, but I'm going to try and kidnap Shaun to be on it as well. I think we have all learned a valuable lesson in putting me and Lars together at panels. For reasons I cannot explain, we balance each other out. Tho I still think he and Arnold are curmudgeon-y before their time when it comes to Trying New Things. However, I think EVERYONE we met this week-end will be watching "Heroes" from now on.
wiliqueen,
nnwest,
dark_aegis and
neadods are fantastic shills, and greatly contributed to the panels I did where they were in attendence.
So far, I think the only complaints I have heard from attendees have been regarding the evil hotel, and the format, length, and lighting of the masquerade. Everyone seemed to have had a fantastic time, and I can't WAIT to go to Gally in February.
More later, as I think my cab to work (woe woe who I am OMG SO LATE) has just arrived.

I went to Chicago TARDIS over the week-end and met so many amazing people that I stayed up talking all night almost every night, and my brain now greatly resembles a bowl of custard. Also, I cannot remember everyone's names now that we are no longer wearing name tags.
zomg it was all so cool, and now I want desperately to go to Galli.
