So I set my alarm and got up before sunrise to watch it and OMG OMG OMG SO HAPPY OMG BLISS.

It was exactly the ending I wanted. I just can't really see it going any other way.

Life in 2006 may not have been empty, but Sam was. He was all procedure, no instinct. Life in 1973 wasn't better, but Gene was all instinct and no procedure. Together, Sam and Gene are BOTH better coppers. And with Annie, Sam is a better man.

And as much as I was all "kiss her, you bastard!" when he begged her to stay the night with him, she was so right to hold out for him opting for a lifetime instead of a single night. And when they finally did kiss? PERFECT. OMG YAY.

How much do I love that Sam had to make a conscious choice to be the man he wanted to be? And he couldn't do that while he was still trapped. So in the end, he was free to return to Gene and Annie. He didn't have a life in 2006 really--the job wasn't doing it for him, and Maya had moved on. But he was making a difference in 1973. And in the end, it was his choice to stay.

OMG I LOVE MY SHOW.

Tho the music was a bit anviliscious. Just a bit. The whole way through. Only criticism. I'll shut up now.

Should I spoil myself and download the final episode to see how they wrap it up, even if I'm still in Season 1?

NO. Watch entire series first, because half the stuff in the last ep doesn;t make any sense unless you've watched the rest.

This is... extremely true. Every time I see him I'm always "..Sam Vimes? GET BACK IN MY BOOK. No, wait. Stay there. OH, GENE." He's a terrible man, and yet I adore him as pie.

Tell me about it. After Quantum Leap, Forever Knight, Due South, Nikita, and Enterprise, it's nice to go out on a high note instead of wanting to find the showrunner and rend him limb from limb.

Jim Parriot and Paul Gross have NO IDEA how close they came to pissing blood for a solid month. And my heart just broke for Manny Coto, over the trainwreck that was ENT.

The less aid about the last season of Nikita, the better.

Now the only thing that vexes me is - do I wait until September to buy the series 1 & 2 box set in the hopes that it will feature something new or should I just by the two sets seperately? Oh, the trials of fandom...
