help me, flist-wan kenobi!
So I'm working on a multi-lingual site for work, and one of the countries it has to be compatible with is Japan. My boss is concerned that the "b" icon for blog won't translate.

Any Japanese natives or gaijin in Japan care to chime in?

I don't see why it would be a problem. Japanese has the same "b" sound that we do. As a native Japanese word, it would be written with a Japanese character (hiragana or katakana), but pretty much everyone knows the alphabet equivalent (romaji). Also, Japanese has borrowed the word "blog," so it has the exact same meaning. (It's just pronounced "burogu.")

Yays! I have passed that on to my uber-boss. We shall see what she says!

Oy vey. They could have made it look less like the RSS icon...

I suspect that's believed to be a feature, not a bug.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty funny that it was apparently motivated by annoyance at how many sites used the RSS or Blogspot icon as a universal blog icon. Most literal interpretation of "two wrongs make a right" ever. :)
