Clearly, I fail at life and the internets.

or at least I fail at reuploading the re-edited first 47,000 words of the novel to FFN without mucking up the final chapter, which caused me to have to delete it and re-upload it, which causes the site to now list it as "updated" when in fact I am still only half-way through Part VIII.

I suck.

Oh, god. I did that with one of mine. Something like seven parts of "The Scientist" had to be squished together into one chapter by way of silly accident, which actually throws a wrench into the whole flow of the story altogether...but FFN tends to make that kind of mistake so easy.

No, it was my fault--when I broke the single file into chapters, I cut adn pasted the wrong piece into Part 7... and the only way to get the correct one to upload proplerly was to delete the cached one, and replace it. Which means I lost 300+ hits... but at least now it's the current file...

I did a line edit on the first 50,000 words over the week-end, and am trying to get Part VIII finished, a year after Part VII... Blame a day of hanging out with Flare, stormkpr, and denesia at JemCon for reminding me how much I really miss them, and writing, and these characters. And I'd like to finish it for my sister still, cos she deserves it after waiting over 3 years for it.

OMG WAI.

Kett, who is conchair for 2008, is interested in having a 'zine or contest of some sort next year, but was frustrated becasue she hadn't found much in the way of fic that was a) finished and b) not erotica (apparently all she'd ever seen was Mooncatx's Red Room, and Captain N *shudder*).

So long plotty goodness and character vignettes of all stripe and flavours (gen, het, slash and femmeslash) was pimped. She's still a bit leery of some of the femmeslash, but once we assured her Mark Moroe was the exception, not the rule, she seemed really open to the idea.
